Find Out More About...
I am a licensed clinical social worker and certified yoga teacher practicing in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. My mission as a psychotherapist is to help people develop skills to experience the peace, joy and equanimity which is each person’s birthright. I currently offer a mindfulness based social skills group in which I incorporate DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) skills and gentle yoga. I also work individually with people teaching yoga strategies for self-awareness, self-care, and self-acceptance.
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)
I offer individual DBT therapy to teenagers and adults. I teach DBT skills (mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness) to individuals, couples, families and groups. Since I’m also a yoga teacher, I like to integrate yoga with interested clients. It is a wonderful way to practice the skill of mindfulness! YogaSong is a gentle mindfulness practice that my music therapist friend and colleague Aaron Teague (http://www.musicjourney.net) and I developed. We combine gentle seated movement, breath, and song (singing encouraged but not required) in this lovely, relaxing practice. If you would like to find out more about bringing YogaSong to your group, business or organization please contact me at 412 848 8400. Join us and stretch your mind, body and soul!
